The Werecoons were a revolving line-up, mini-supergroup that played around the northwest sporadically over the past few years. When "leader" Rhea Melina followed a teaching job to New Zealand at the beginning of this summer, I assumed that was probably the end of it. But the other day I got the pleasant surprise of these tracks in the mail from "Werecoon of One," her solo adaptation of the Werecoons. And, lo-and-behold, it's even better than the Werecoons. These three songs have me pretty excited for the album that will come out of it all.
